To help keep your pieces looking great longer simply follow the care instructions provided below.
A care sheet for your particular item/items will be included with your order if needed. If the care sheet went MIA on you the below can be a helpful guide. If you don’t see care instructions below for your item, please call and I will be happy to guide you.
Jewelry – It would be best to avoid getting your piece wet, avoid harsh chemicals, lotion, and hair spray. Remove when sleeping, working out and store jewelry in a dark place with less air, moisture, and humidity. Some finishes could tarnish and oxidize.
Sterling Silver… I use sterling silver wire for the handmade wire pieces. Some pieces may have premade chains which could be also sterling silver or stainless steel. The sterling silver items you would want to polish every so often when you start to see it tarnish.  If sterling silver was used in your piece a polishing cloth will be included for you.  If you find the stainless steel tarnishing you could also use the polishing cloth and techniques below.
On Sterling Silver items, I have included a yellow Sunshine polishing cloth. Over time your piece may tarnish. You can take the sunshine cloth and rub the surface to be polished with medium pressure. Special polishing and cleansing action work until cloth is completely darkened. Below is more on sterling silver.
Sterling silver is an alloy containing metals that react with chemicals found in air and produce tarnish; high moisture levels, exposure to sunlight and contaminants such as saltwater increase this reaction. Take steps to protect your sterling silver by keeping it in airtight packages, use tarnish-resistant products (such as tarnish tabs, strips or anti tarnish paper) that absorb harmful chemicals, and store metals in a cool, dry place. Most tarnish is easily removed with a polishing cloth made for silver, by polishing with a mild abrasive or soaking in an anti-tarnish solution.  If you use the solution method, dish soap, or some kind of liquid cleaner please cover the pendant and work around it so it doesn’t go in the solutions, or you can take pendant off if possible. You would just want to work around the part of the jewelry that’s not intended to be put in a solution or in water. If you have any questions on that, please reach out and I can guide you through it.
Flame Painted Copper – Flame painted copper pieces have been coated with a clear lacquer to help lock in the color and then a protective lacquer on top. Copper oxidizes over time and this process helps protect it and keep the colors in. Please be gentle with these pieces and keep it in a safe place when not wearing it to avoid scratching the clear coat. Please don’t use any kind of cleaner on the flame painted piece, it could remove the finish.
Hand Stamped Items – The impressions are colored with an enamel pen. The enamel is water based and it is best not to get the impression really wet. It’s a simple fix if it does get really wet and you notice the coloring has faded. If that happens please call me and I will guide you through the simple fix. Hand stamped items that are made of aluminum will not discolor or tarnish. Aluminum has a lower rate of reaction as compared to sterling silver.
How to adjust hand stamped cuff bracelets and rings –
Sizing details for cuff bracelet – Cuff bracelets are adjustable to fit most wrists. When putting on the cuff bracelet it works best when you put it on from the side of your wrist then rotate so the ends are facing down. To size your adjustable cuffs to make it larger simply before putting bracelet on hold the ends of the bracelet and slightly and gently pull out a little bit at a time to your size. To make it smaller, when it is on you can lightly press/squeeze in toward the bottom of the bracelet with your fingers on each side of the bracelet. Both techniques will help keep its shape. Once you have it sized, it’s best to not continuously open and close, especially to wide.
Sizing details for adjustable rings – Rings are adjustable to fit most. Slide the ring down on the preferred finger to get an idea if too big or too small to get an idea of how you need to adjust it. To size your adjustable ring to make it larger simply before putting the ring on, hold the ends of the ring and slightly and gently pull out a little bit at a time to your size.
